Hematite is an iron oxide with a metallic luster, whose color ranges from silver-gray to black. Due to its red polishing dust, it is also called "bloodstone." It is heavy and often feels cool on the skin.
It is mined worldwide, including in Brazil and Great Britain. Hematite has a strong grounding and protective effect. It is used to promote blood formation and regeneration, as well as to release fears. It is a classic stone for the root chakra.
